Indo-US Professorships in Microbiology: Funding

The International Professorship Program provides funding to meet the costs of a visit to one institution. Up to $3,750 of the funding may be used to defray travel expenses for the professor (and co-professor if required). Up to $2,500 may be used for supplies and equipment that are not available at the host institution, or a local assistant, if required. An allowance of up to $375 per visit may be used by a Teaching Professor to defray expenses incurred in local administrative costs or for other contingencies. Funds from ASM must be matched by the hosting institution. Matching funds provided by the host institution may be in-kind contributions such as housing and board for the visiting professor, supplies, facilities, administrative support, etc.

The typical award is $5,000. However, requests for up to $7,000 will be considered. Up to $1,000 may be used for housing and board by a professor visiting the US.
