WHO Advisories
Update: On June 11, 2009 the World Health
Organization (WHO) raised the threat level on Influenza A (H1N1) to Phase 6. At
this time, WHO considers the overall severity of the influenza pandemic to be

A CDC Import Permit is required for the importation into the United States of virus isolates and/or clinical samples associated with the swine-origin, novel influenza A (H1N1) virus outbreak. A CDC Import Permit is not required for the (1) transfer of those virus isolates and/or clinical samples associated with the swine-origin, novel influenza A (H1N1) virus outbreak, which originate in the United States; or (2) the further distribution of virus isolates and/or clinical samples associated with the swine-origin, novel influenza A (H1N1) virus outbreak that originally had been imported into the United States under CDC permit.
