Wakesman Foundation Lecturer at the 2006 Florida ASM

We are glad to announce that Dr. Alfred P. Dufour accepted our invitation to be our Wakesman Foundation Lecturer at the 2006 FL ASM. Dr. Dufour is a very distinguished microbiologist that has been with the U.S. EPA since its inception in 1970.  He is looking forward to meeting us and is happy to provide this gift of time to the Society, the FL ASM and the Wakesman Foundation.

It will be an honor to hear him speak at our meeting.


The Winner of the ASM Branch Logo Contest!!!

The Florida Branch ASM would like to congratulate Ms. Tia Vellani for being one of the two winners of the ASM Branch Logo Contest!!! Tia's work will be displayed as the general central graphic backdrop for the Branch Booth at the ASM General Meeting in Orlando, Florida and will also be featured on other large scale displays and posters. Holiday Greetings from the Florida Branch ASM!

It's that time of year again - and we're not just talking about the holidays! It's time to renew your FL ASM membership for 2006! Or, if you're not already a member, please consider joining the Florida Branch ASM.

Here is some information about us: The Florida Branch provides a forum and annual meeting for students and scientists in the state. Our annual meeting is held in the spring and varies in location in Central/South Florida. The Branch has a diverse membership, with representation of academia, government labs, private institutions, and hospitals. The Florida Branch contains a broad spectrum of microbiological sub-specialties, with emphasis on clinical, public health, and marine microbiology. We're a growing Branch in the process of adding new features, including career seminars, laboratory internship opportunities, and topical symposiums.
