North Central Branch
American Society for Microbiology













The History of the North Central Branch began in 1935 at a AAAS meeting of bacteriologists in Minneapolis.  As stated in its Constitution and By-Laws, the objectives of this society are the advancement of the Science of Microbiology and the promotion of fellowship and acquaintance among those interested in the science and within the area covered by this association.

The North Central Branch is located in Region V of the American Society for Microbiology.  The territory of the branch includes the states of Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, and  Wisconsin.

 
Next Meeting 2008 NC Branch Meeting

The 2008 Meeting of the North Central Branch is scheduled for Oct 17-18. The meeting will be co-hosted by St. Cloud State University, College of St. Benedict, and St. John's University.

Friday Oct 17 sessions will take place at the Holiday Inn in St. Cloud and Saturday sessions will be held at St. John's University. Tentative meeting themes are: Microbiology Education; Immune Pathology of Infectious Disease; Virology.
