Hot Zone (Recent Postings to the NCASM Site):

1. Announcing the NCASM 2009 Fall Meeting: October 3, 2009, at Santa Clara University. This is the first joint conference of NCASM with the Santa Clara and Peninsula Veterinary Medical Associations! The meeting is co-sponsored by a diversity grant from the ASM (written by our past councilor, Dan Mills), with a goal to promote interactions between medical and veterinary microbiology communities. The focus of the conference will be ANAEROBES. Topics will include:
  • Clostridium perfringens in Sea Otter populations
  • Anaerobes of importance in human and veterinary clinical medicine
  • An Anaerobiasis Tutorial
  • Case Studies and more
This will be an exciting immersion into the world of anaerobic microbiology.
No cost for CEUs to NCASM and Veterinary Association Members.

  • Fall 2009 Meeting: October 3, 2009 at Santa Clara University
