Puerto Rico Society of Microbiologists

OBJECTIVES

The Puerto Rico Society of Microbiologists (PRSM) is a non-profit institution, founded in 1957. Its aims are to promote scientific interest in the discipline of Microbiology and to aid in the development and progress of professionals in the field. The PRSM is affiliated to the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and is its representative in Puerto Rico. The PRSM also sponsors Student Chapters in several universities. Nowadays, the PRSM has a large and distinguished membership. Each year, workshops, symposiums and conventions concerning the most current issues in Microbiology are organized. Any person interested in the aims of the PRSM and who possesses a bachelor’s degree may become a regular member. Any college student may become a student member.
