Carski Foundation Distinguished Teaching Award
Dear Division W members:
We all remember a teacher we once had-- dedicated, innovative, one who may have changed your life.
ASM has an award for such teachers--each year the Carski Foundation Distinguished Teaching Award recognizes a microbiologist for distinguished teaching of microbiology to undergraduate students.
Nominees must: 1) be currently teaching microbiology at a college or university, 2) have spent substantial portion of his or her time during the past five years devoted to teaching undergraduate students in microbiology, and 3) have taught for a minimum of 10 years total. Nominees may have engaged in research or other concerns, provided that teaching undergraduates remained a substantial activity. International educators are eligible.
The award comes with a $2,000 cash prize, commemorative piece, and travel to the ASM General Meeting where the award laureate delivers the Carski Award Lecture.
The Nomination Deadline is October 1 , so please think about those special educators in your life, and visit this web site for more information.
