June 6, 2012 - ASM Comments on Draft Recommendations for Identification of Chronic HCV Infection
The ASM sent comments to CDC on the Federal Register notice, Recommendations for the Identification of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Chronic Infection. These draft recommendations are intended to increase the proportion of persons with chronic HCV who are properly diagnosed and treated. ASM’s comments address specific aspects of the laboratory testing process for HCV.
May 24, 2012 - ASM Submits Comments to NAS on Seeking Solutions Conference
The ASM submitted comments to the National Academies in response to their request to submit testimony on a conference they are holding called, "Seeking Solutions: Maximizing American Talent by Advancing Women of Color in Academia." The comments were written by the Committee on Microbiological Issues Impacting Minorities (CMIIM).

The ASM sent a letter to members of Congress regarding the government travel restriction amendments included in the "21st Century Postal Service Act" and the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act." If passed, the law would limit the ability of scientists from federal agencies to attend scientific meetings and conferences.
