ASM Events
General Meeting
The ASM General Meeting showcases the central role of microbes in the biosphere by communicating today’s cutting edge science in the diverse areas influenced by microbes. The breadth of this meeting provides participants with opportunities for immersion in fields of specialization as well as forays into different disciplines.
Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC)
ICAAC, the premier conference on antimicrobial agents and infectious diseases, showcases the latest-breaking science and lectures from top researchers from around the world. With over 60% of its attendees living outside of the United States, ICAAC provides a rare opportunity to bring together the field’s foremost leaders to discuss the state of infection control and prevention on a global scale.
ASM Biodefense and Emerging Diseases Research Meeting
The ASM Biodefense and Emerging Diseases Research Meeting brings together individuals who are carrying out research to defend against the growing threat of bioterrorism and decision makers shaping the future biodefense research agenda, recognizing that emerging infectious diseases serve as a paradigm for handling the public threat of bioterrorism. x
ASM Conferences
ASM Conferences address the needs of the diverse scientific interests of microbiologists by providing a forum for international groups of scientists, ranging from 100-400 participants, to discuss their specific area of concentration.
ASM Conference for UNdergraduate Educators (ASMCUE)
Now in its twentieth year, ASMCUE gathers over 300 microbiology and biology educators for an interactive four-day conference. Educators come from colleges, universities and international institutions to learn and share the latest information in the biological sciences and education research.
Clinical Virology Symposium
This international symposium provides a forum for the meaningful exchange of ideas dealing with viral infections and is led by biomedical scientists engaged in research and primary care physicians and laboratorians involved with patient care.
This conference is sponsored by the Pan American Society for Clinical Virology (PASCV) and managed by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM).

Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS)
ABRCMS is the largest, professional conference for students pursuing advanced training in the biomedical and behavioral sciences, including mathematics. The conference is designed to encourage underrepresented minority students to pursue advanced training in the biomedical and behavioral sciences, including mathematics and provide faculty mentors and advisors with resources for facilitating students’ success. More than 500 representatives from graduate programs at US colleges and universities as well as scientists from government agencies, foundations, and professional scientific societies join ABRCMS in the exhibitors program to share information about graduate school and summer internship opportunities.
This conference is sponsored by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), Division of Training, Workforce Development, and Diversity (TWD) and managed by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM).
International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases (ICEID)
ICEID brings together public health professionals to encourage the exchange of scientific and public health information on global emerging infectious disease issues. The program will include plenary and panel sessions with invited speakers as well as oral and poster presentations on emerging infections. Major topics to be included are current work on surveillance, epidemiology, research, communication and training, bioterrorism, and preventions and control of emerging infectious diseases, both in the United States and abroad.
