Harlyn O. Halvorson Papers
RETURN TO CHOMA HOME PAGE
These papers of Dr. Halvorson are all related to his activities in the American Society for Microbiology, and cover two periods: from his election as President-elect through his tenure as Past-President (1975-1979), and his service as Chairman of the Society's Public and Scientific Affairs Board (1979-1987). The PSAB materials are particularly notable in that they cover the period of the Board's beginnings, and also in that they document the Society's approach to many public policy issues: clinical laboratory regulation, research funding, biotechnology, etc.
