June 7, 2013 – ASM Signs Onto Letter Regarding the Reintroduction of the “Strategies to Address Antimicrobial Resistance (STAAR) Act”
The ASM signed onto a letter to Representative James Matheson (D-UT) thanking him for reintroducing the STAAR Act. The intent of the STAAR Act is to develop appropriate responses to the urgent problem of antimicrobial resistance. Antimicrobial resistant infections affect hundreds of thousands of Americans and cause tens of thousands of deaths each year.
