Travel Grants

Students, postdocs and fellows are eligible to apply for student travel grants at various ASM meetings and conferences.

 

ICAAC Travel Grants
ICAAC has available travel grants for students, post-doctoral fellows.

General Meeting Student Travel Grants
ASM members who are undergraduate or gradutate students and PhDs or MDs who recently completed their dissertation are eligible to request consideration for a travel grant if they have submitted an abstract for consideration at the General Meeting.

ASM General Meeting Minority Travel Grant
The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) offers travel grants to increase the participation of underrepresented minority (URM) groups in the ASM General Meeting. The ASM will select post-doctoral scholars from URM groups in the microbiological sciences or faculty from Minority Serving Institutions. Each grantee will be offered up to $2000 to defray expenses associated with travel to the ASM General Meeting

Biodefense and Emerging Diseases Research Meeting Student Travel Grants
Undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral fellows may submit a request for a travel grant to the Biodefense and Emerging Diseases Research Meeting.

ASM Conferences Student Travel Grants
Students attending an ASM Conference may request a student travel grant during the abstract submission process.

FACULTY TRAVEL GRANTS

Early-Career Faculty Travel Grants
Provides travel support for graduate students and early career faculty to present a poster at the Conference for Undergraduate Educators.

Faculty Enhancement Program
Travel grant available for non-ASM members to attend the Conference for Undergraduate Educators and receive ASM membership benefits.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL GRANTS

Mäkelä – Cassell Travel Award for Early Career Scientists
Travel to Europe! The American Society for Microbiology invites members to apply for the Mäkelä – Cassell Travel Award for Early Career Scientists to present their research at the FEMS Biannual Congress.

Carlyn Halde Latin American Student Travel Grant
This travel grant, administered in collaboration with the Medical Mycological Society of the Americas (MMSA), supports the travel of a student medical microbiologist from Latin America, Puerto Rico or the Caribbean to participate in ASM General Meeting.

ASMCUE Leadership Grant for International Educators
This program has been developed to enable a select group of educators from resource-limited countries to attend the ASM Conference for Undergraduate Educators and a pre-conference workshop to provide leaders in education with the resources to build innovative teaching modules that engage students and lead to enduring understandings in microbiology.

 

MEMBERSHIP BOARD GRANTS

Career Development Grants for Postdoctoral Women
Given to enhance the careers of postdoctoral women with outstanding scientific accomplishments and potential for significant research in the area of microbiology.
