ASM is announcing a Global Challenge Video Contest - How Your Microbiology is Improving the World
Show us in a short video and you could win big! The winner will receive a cash prize and trip to ASM's General Meeting to present his or her video.
ASM is asking our international members to create a 30-90 second video that demonstrates their enthusiasm for their science. Explore the theme "How is my microbiology helping make the world a better place?" from any perspective - personally, professionally, in your country, in the global community.
So grab your camera (or cell phone with camera) and go!
Deadline: September 1, 2013
Length: 30-90 seconds
Subject: Anything that illustrates your excitement about microbiology
Prizes:
- First place: $3,000 and a trip to ASM's General Meeting 2014
- Second place: $1,500
- Third place: $500
Your video will be judged on:
- How well you use the key theme of the contest to explore this diverse and exciting field of science.
- How well you use creativity to grab attention and make a point
- Quality of the video (it needs only minor audio or visual enhancements to be "ready for prime time")

How to submit:
- Fill out the application form (link below)
- Submission must be received by September 1, 2013 (not postmarked September 1).
- Submit your video using one of the 2 following options
- YouTube (you must have an account); OR
- By mail: acceptable formats include DVD or USB stick[1]:
