Dr. John earned his Ph.D. in microbiology at Colorado State University.   He teaches microbiology at Oklahoma State University.  Besides being a professor, he is the president of the Native American Faculty and Staff Association. This organization provides scholarships to Native American students on campus to ease some of the financial burden of college. They also organize events, sponsor motivational speakers, and fund other areas of the school in order to inspire students to succeed. Through this organization, John hopes to knock down obstacles that get in the way of students reaching their goals.  Adapted from SACNAS, 2011.
