Welcome Letter from Ambassador Soncini-Eng

Dear ASM International Members:

On behalf of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) I welcome you to the Argentina, Chile, Paraguay y Uruguay ASM International Web Site.  The ASM is the world's largest scientific society of individuals interested in the microbiological sciences. This Society is dedicated to advance the microbiological sciences as a vehicle for understanding life processes and to apply and communicate this knowledge for the improvement of health and environmental and economic wellbeing worldwide.

As the ASM ambassador to Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay I will put my efforts to identify and prioritize actions to support research in microbiology in our region and to promote and explain the benefit of membership in ASM, including the promotion of collaborative projects between ASM members and scientists from our region, and the participation of prominent ASM members in meetings, postgraduate courses and workshops held in our region.

I am very open to suggestions as to how to proceed to improve this program in our region.

Please, do not hesitate to email me at
soncini@ibr.gov.ar  if you need any help or would like to be involved.

Sincerely,

Fernando Soncini
