Lab Cap’s International Emerging Infections Programs (IEIP) Initiatives
 
ASM has started collaborating with the CDC’s Global Disease Detection Program in order to assist with one of its core components, the International Emerging Infections Programs (IEIP). ASM will provide technical expertise and consultation for building laboratory capacity and improving clinical microbiology for the diagnosis of respiratory diseases in five IEIP sites. Each site has implemented active, population-based surveillance for pneumonia with varying levels of microbiologic capacity.
