Conference Scope: This meeting will focus on methicillin-resistant staphylococci (MRS) in animal health and the potential implications thereof for humans. The main focus will be methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The meeting will also include methicillin-resistant S. intermedius, S. schleiferi coagulans and S. pseudintermedius because of their emerging roles in animal disease. The two main areas are; 1) the impact of MRS infection and colonization on animal populations, and; 2) the public health consequences of animal MRS infection and colonization.
