|Day to day responsibilities:
After spending 26 plus years as the Director of a Clinical Laboratory I decided to come to work for an in vitro diagnostic company. In my new role I assist with decisions on development of new diagnostic assays and instruments for use in the infectious disease laboratory. Also very involved with design and initiation of clinical trials and studies and data analysis.

Every day presents new challenges and opportunities. Also have the ability to meet a number of very talented professionals with similar passion for infectious disease diagnostics.
Degrees, experience, license(s), and skills required for position:
I am a PhD with extensive training in clinical virology. Board certified in medical and public health microbiology (ABMM). Prior to obtaining my PhD I worked as a bench technologist and later a supervisor. While clinical virology is my passion, I have developed a broad knowledge in all aspects of infectious disease diagnostics and technology along with therapeutic considerations, and infection prevention strategies.

Network, be persistent. Develop and follow your passion. Keep a positive attitude – if one door closes feel confident another will open.
