Goals
A.    Increase the number of participants and diversity of scientific disciplines in regional activities. B.     Create additional opportunities for partnering with other scientific organizations to diversify regional and local meetings.C.     Continue to modify Branch level funding programs to promote closer ties between research-intensive institutions and Branches.D.    Reexamine and, if appropriate, modify Branch regional boundaries and organization to strengthen regional and local professional activities.E.   Strengthen Branch and Regional leadership through recruitment and training of new members for leadership positions.F.   Establish and encourage stronger liaisons between the Society, academic microbiology department chairs and microbiology faculty advisors to strengthen Branch programs and ASM membership.G. Encourage increased Branch use of distinguished lecturers from the ASMBL program.
