On Thursday, January 23, 2014, Cultures contributors and special guests celebrated the launch of the magazine at ASM Headquarters. A group of over 100 distinguished guests, including several ASM Young Ambassadors, the Academy Board of Governors, and other VIPs, gathered to mark the occasion. The International Board Chair May Chu, ASM International Affairs Director Jason Rao, contributing authors Bruce Alberts and Gebisa Ejeta commemorated the event with remarks regarding the release of the publication and their respective roles.
Bruce Alberts spoke about the importance of global science collaboration with individuals, organizations, and governments alike.
Gebisa Ejeta emphasized the importance on focusing time, energy, and research on food security.
May Chu commenced the event with celebratory remarks about the importance of this publication.
