Global Outreach Program Print E-mail

In recognition of the significant challenges faced by scientists in developing countries, the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) has created the Global Outreach Program which offers free ASM membership and full access to all online journals, MicrobeLibrary.org and EcoSal.org to qualified microbiologists in eligible countries.

Benefits of Global Outreach Membership 

  • Access to a network of 43,000 microbiologists worldwide, as well as member-only resources on the ASM website at www.asm.org
  • Full access to ASM’s 11 internationally recognized scientific journals and the ASM magazine Microbe
  • Full access to thousands of images, videos, articles and instructional guides through the online resource called Microbe Library at: http://www.microbelibrary.org/ 
  • Full access to www.ecosal.org, a comprehensive an online archive of the entire corpus of knowledge on the enteric bacterial cell.
  • Discounts on meeting registration, books, and other ASM products.

The Global Outreach Program is for individuals only.  Although the membership and subscriptions are provided at no cost, it must be renewed annually to continue with the program.
 
Institutions do not qualify either for free membership or online journals.  Membership is not transferable. Print journals are not free. If they are requested, the member will be billed for them at the then current member subscription rate.

The message must contain the following:

  • your ASM membership ID# (if you are a past ASM member)
  • full name
  • complete mailing address
  • degree and year received
  • gender and year of birth
  • a valid e-mail address - this is needed so we can contact you regarding your membership and renewal as well as instructions regarding your online journal subscriptions
  • mobile # (if possible)
