Preliminary Program: The schedule, including invited speakers, is available through the link below. The conference includes keynote lectures, plenary sessions, evening concurrent sessions, three days of poster sessions, and pre-meeting workshops. As in past ASM Biofilms conferences, many speakers have been selected from the submitted abstracts. Check this site regularly to learn the latest information about the conference.
Conference Destination: Recreate at Cancun's beautiful beaches, where the clear turquoise water of the Caribbean meets white powdery sand. Meander downtown for authentic Mexican cuisine, salsa and world beats. Take a day trip before or after the conference to see the nearby Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza, one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Learn to scuba, or snorkel to explore the nearby coral reefs. The new Cancun airport with service by more international flights than any other destination in Mexico provides easy access from around the world.
The Journal of Bacteriology: The Journal of Bacteriology is planning an issue dedicated to the 5th ASM Conference on Biofilms. The issue will include a meeting review, and we hope, multiple papers describing work presented at the meeting. We are inviting all presenters (talks and poster) at the meeting to submit manuscripts by Dec. 10, 3 weeks after the end of the meeting. These papers should relate in some manner to work presented at the meeting. The manuscripts will undergo the normal review process at JB and the same level of rigor will be expected. Please request George O'Toole as the Editor for these manuscripts.
We look forward to having an exciting issue of JB that highlights the fantastic work we anticipate will be presented at the meeting.
Matt Parsek and George O'Toole
