    Continuing Education

The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians.

ASM is also accredited by the California Department of Health Services to provide continuing education (CE) to Clinical Laboratory Scientists and the Florida Department of Health to provide CE to Clinical Laboratory Personnel.

Selected sessions are designated at the General Meeting and ICAAC, workshops, conferences and audioconferences for category 1 credit towards the American Medical Association Physician’s Recognition Award. Diplomates of the American Board of Medical Microbiology, Diplomates of the American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology, and Registrants of the National Registry of Microbiologists may earn category 1 credit toward recertification. Each participant should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. Details for each meeting, conference or audioconference indicate if Continuing Education Credit is authorized for the event.

102nd General Meeting Continuing Education Credits

General Meeting attendees who registered and paid the $20 fee for Continuing Education Credit (CME, California, or Florida) either before or at the 102nd General Meeting in Salt Lake City may access this service and generate a CE letter of certification on-line. The service will remain open to registrants until further notice.

    42nd ICAAC Continuing Education

Information on recording attendance and obtaining credits is available on the icaac.org web site.
