    Premeeting Workshops

    Workshop Descriptions

    Workshop Program and Venue

    General Meeting Workshops will be held on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18, 2003. The day each workshop is offered is noted in the description. There is an additional fee for workshops.

    The workshop schedule, faculty, and topics are subject to change without notice.

    All workshops will be held at Gaulladet University and the Gaulladet University Conference Center. Transportation will be provided to the workshops venue. The departure location, time and room assignments will be available on the General Meeting homepage April 18 and will be e-mailed to all pre-registered workshop participants.

    Please Note: Hotel rooms are available at the Conference Center. Reservations can be made by completing the Registration and Housing Form.

    Please note that there are three workshops this year scheduled to last for two full days. In addition, there are three half-day workshops. All scheduled times are noted in the description.

    Continuing Education
    ASM is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. Workshops are planned and produced in accordance with the ACCME Essentials and are available for CME credit. ASM designates full-day workshops for 7 hours of CME credit and half-day workshops for 3.5 hours.

    The ASM is accredited by the California Department of Health Services to provide continuing education for Clinical Laboratory Scientists.

    The ASM is accredited by the Florida Department of Health to provide continuing education for Clinical Laboratory Personnel.

    All workshops on this program have been approved for Category 1 CME, and Continuing Education Credit for both California and Florida with the following exceptions:

    NOTE: The following workshops are not approved for Florida continuing education credit:

    WS21
    WS22

    Registration Fee
    The workshop registration fee includes:

    • A CME service fee; (individuals attending sessions at the General Meeting must pay the $25 Service Fee for credits obtained at the General Meeting symposia or special lectures)
    • A boxed lunch for all full-day workshop participants only
    • Transportation to the workshops venue. The departure location and time will be available on the General Meeting homepage April 18 and will be e-mailed to all pre-registered workshop participants.
    • Workshops with an off-site laboratory setting have an additional lab fee.

    Preregistration
    Individuals registering for a premeeting workshop should complete the workshop section of the Registration and Housing Form. This form may be found through the link to the Registration and Housing Page on the left. You will need the code number(s) and the cost of your selected workshop(s) when you fill out the form. Advance registration for workshops will be accepted until April 11, 2003. On-line registration for the rest of the meeting is also available through the same page.

    On-Site Registration
    Individuals who did not register for a workshop before April 11, 2003, can register on site for workshops on a space available basis. On-site registrants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and the workshop rate will increase by $50.00. On-site registration is NOT available for any laboratory workshops.

    Cancellation Policy
    Individuals who find it necessary to cancel their reservation for a workshop can expect a refund (less the $25.00 processing fee) if the cancellation is made on or before April 11, 2003. There is no refund for a cancellation after April 11, 2003.
