The American Society for Microbiology is looking for a high level, strong and experienced HR professional to optimize the company’s HR priorities within each assigned client/department base.
The optimal candidate needs to possess a broad range of HR expertise in order to provide and lead management with sound guidance in regards to HR policy, workflows and process as well as employee management and development. There must be a strong ability and talent to work with all levels of staff and strong personalities.
Primary Functions:
  • Partner with department management to align human resources strategy with department objectives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and builds a valued relationship with department staff, from employees to leadership
  • Spearheads and advises management in employee relation issues, performance management/improvement and corrective action
  • Leads employee relations investigations
  • Analyze trends including turnover, culture survey, and complaints 
  • Helps management identify training needs, integrate effective HR processes, programs and practices into daily operations
  • Recommends employee retention programs, trainings and assists in special events
  • Provide consultation and guidance to management in the interpretation of human resource policies, procedures, programs and applications related to new regulation and laws
  • Ensure business practices are in accordance with human resource policies and employment laws
  • Maintains updated salary administration and job descriptions
  • Responsible for the recruiting efforts for the designated departments
  • Execute recruitment, new hire orientation, on-boarding and applicant tracking systems

  • Bachelors’ degree, Masters Preferred
  • 5 years’ experience as a high functioning and well-rounded HR professional; preferably as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner
  • PHR or HRBP certification preferred
