Nolan Lisa 250

Nolan’s research has shifted our views on the sources, host specificity and control of Extraintestinal Pathogenic Escherichia coli that cause avian colibacillosis and human urinary tract infections and meningitis. Key accomplishments include completion of the 1st Avian Pathogenic E. coli genomic sequences, the 1st ColV plasmid sequences, identification of ExPEC’s plasmid pathogenicity islands and their role in disease, and recognition of ExPEC’s zoonotic potential. Nolan has also impacted the careers of many others through teaching and mentoring and professional service.
