Dr. Gaydos is Professor, Division of Infectious Diseases, Johns Hopkins University, with joint appointments in Emergency Medicine and Epidemiology, School of Public Health. She is President-elect of the World Executive Committee for IUSTI and member of the Center for Global Health. Her DrPH in infectious diseases was received from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. She is Director of the Johns Hopkins University International STI and Respiratory Research Laboratory. She has authored 27 book chapters, 450 research articles, and nearly 700 abstracts/oral presentations. Dr. Gaydos has conducted multiple FDA clinical trials for diagnostics for STIs and respiratory pathogens and has a Core Reference Laboratory for HPTN, international studies of STIs, respiratory diseases, and trachoma. She serves on the editorial boards of the STD journal and the Journal of Clinical Microbiology and on the executive committee of the ASTDA.
