Dr. Nancy C. Reich is a Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at Stony Brook University. She received her Ph.D. from Stony Brook University with Dr. Arnold J. Levine, and trained as a Postdoctoral Fellow with Dr. James E. Darnell, Jr. at the Rockefeller University. She has served as scientific advisor for numerous national and international committees including the National Institutes of Health, and has mentored 19 Ph.D. students who now hold positions that include Professorships and Clinical/Research Scientist positions. Her accomplishments have contributed to our understanding of the action of two transcription factor families; interferon regulatory factors (IRFs) and signal transducers and activators of transcription (STATs). She is a recipient of the Milstein Award for Excellence in Interferon & Cytokine Research by the International Cytokine and Interferon Society (ICIS), and will serve as elected President of ICIS 2017-2019.
