Lifelong Learning Marketing Coordinator (Full-Time)

The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) is looking for a full-time rock-star marketing coordinator for key conferences and to support marketing our strategic alliances. Based in Washington, DC, ASM is part of one of science’s most exciting fields.The Marketing Coordinator will be part of a team that leads in ASM’s award-winning Marketing and Communications department.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: assisting with the development and implementation of targeted, effective integrated marketing campaigns, coordinating creation, production and delivery of tactics to execute the plans effectively, developing compelling content and messaging, provide input on the design, and manage the production and distribution of all print and digital marketing materials. He or she will also be responsible for monitoring campaign activity and results and use data/ findings to modify and inform plans and future actions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications. Previous marketing and communications experience in association, medical society or scientific organization.  Knowledge of scientific publishing a distinct advantage a plus
  •  Five to seven years’ marketing communication experience with expertise in developing and executing targeted, effective campaigns that drive results
  • Extensive direct marketing experience including list research and management
  • Ability to manage multiple promotions and campaigns simultaneously
  • Proficiency building and using tools to track and report out performance of multiple marketing campaigns
  • Effective communicator with the ability to interface with a variety of internal and external clients including program managers, program directors and staff
  • Good writing skills and ability to work with communications team or consultants to develop compelling, targeted, results-oriented copy
  • Good visual communication skills and the ability to work with communications team or consultants to develop compelling, targeted, results-oriented design solutions
  • Ability to leverage digital and social media tools to achieve program goals
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to leverage social media, email and association management software systems
  • Ability to travel
