The ASM Office of Public Affairs has completed a summary of the Administration's FY 2018 budget proposal with programs and agencies of importance to the microbial sciences.

The ASM has released a statement on the release of the Administration’s FY 2018 Budget urging Congress to reject the Administration’s proposed severe cuts to science and public health programs.  

The ASM sent a letter to all members of Congress thanking them for their efforts to increase funding for the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the US Department of Agriculture and the Department of Energy Office of Science and the Food and Drug Administration in the FY 2017 Omnibus Spending Bill.

The ASM signed onto a letter sent to House and Senate appropriations committee leaders calling on Congress to increase the fiscal 2018 302(b) subcommittee allocations for Labor-HHS.

The ASM has compiled its funding recommendations on biomedical and life science research and public health for fiscal year 2018 in a booklet. It includes the statements sent to Congress on the federal agencies that support microbial sciences research.
