Written by
Published in Press Releases

Washington, DC - January 24, 2017 - In response to the Administration's directive to halt certain Federal science agency workers from communicating with the public, Stefano Bertuzzi, CEO, ASM, made the following statement.

Stefano Bertuzzi

"ASM believes in the importance of the free flow of information between scientists and policymakers.  Any efforts to interfere with scientific agencies’ ability to communicate with Congress, Federal or State agencies or the public concerns us. ASM strongly suggests that policy should be evidence-based, especially during a time when we are facing serious public health challenges."
