ASM sent a letter to members of the House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies regarding funding for the National Science Foundation. The ASM asked Congress to reject the President’s proposed 11.2 percent cut and instead fund the NSF at $8 billion for the FY 2018, about 4 percent above the FY 2016 enacted level.

ASM is asking members to contact their Congressional Representatives about FY 2018 funding for federal agencies that support microbial sciences funding.

The ASM sent a letter to members of the Senate and House Appropriations Subcommittees on Energy and Water Development on FY 2018 funding for the DOE’s Office of Science asking Congress to reject the 16.4 percent reduction proposed in the President’s budget for DOE life science research.
