Moselio Schaechter Distinguished Service Award

This award honors an ASM member who has shown exemplary leadership and commitment towards the substantial furthering of the profession of microbiology in research, education or technology in the developing world. Nominations will be considered without updating for three years. Winner will receive $4000 cash prize. Open to members from resource-limited countries only.

Leadership Grant for International Educators

This grant provides leaders in education with the resources to build innovative teaching modules that engage students and lead to enduring understandings in microbiology. Leaders from resource-limited countries will receive training in the latest developments in scientific pedagogy, and a framework to disseminate this knowledge to their peers. This grant covers airfare, room, board, and registration for the ASM Conference for Undergraduate Educators (ASMCUE), including a pre-conference workshop.

ASM Indo-US Teaching and Research Professorships

Sponsored by the Indo-US Science & Technology Forum, this prestigious grant seeks to broaden collaboration between India and the U.S. on issues of global concern though research and teaching partnerships through the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum. Funding is provided for travel and the visit of ONE institution abroad, including administrative costs, and supplies. Funds must be matched by hosting institution.

FEMS-ASM Mäkelä-Cassell Award

Travel to Europe! ASM invites members to apply for the Mäkelä-Cassell Travel Award for Early Career Scientists to present their research at the Federation of European Microbiology Societies Biannual Congress. This award provides young faculty members with airfare, room, board, and registration for the FEMS Biannual Congress. US citizens or permanent residents only.

This travel award recognizes outstanding research accomplishment and potential of women scientists from Eastern Europe and Eurasia. The award provides an opportunity to meet new colleagues, network, and present research at ASM Microbe 2016.



Carlyn Halde Latin American Student Travel Grant

This travel grant, administered in collaboration with the Medical Mycological Society of the Americas (MMSA), supports the travel of a microbiology student from Latin America, Puerto Rico, or the Caribbean to participate in ASM Microbe.
