Cutting ribbons of ASM-renovated high burden TB labs in Côte d’Ivoire

ASM staff participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony of the intermediary tuberculosis (TB) center (CAT) of Adjamé in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire on March 26, 2014. CAT-Adjamé is the highest TB burden center in the country, diagnosing, monitoring and treating an average of about 3000 patients per year. ASM helped renovate CAT-Adjamé’s TB microscopy laboratory, the clinical biology laboratory, and the wash room through a phased process that involved sending an ASM engineer to help design the renovation plan and identifying a local contractor to perform the renovation. The renovation was finalized over a three-month period, as planned, and the ribbon cutting ceremony included the Director General of the Ministry of Health and the Country Director and Laboratory Chief of CDC/PEPFAR- Côte d’Ivoire. This marks ASM’s second renovated TB laboratory in Côte d’Ivoire.
